Operating Room Assistant Technician - Center for Ortho Surgery - Full Time

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team during operating procedures as directed by the Registered Nurse.
• Act as a retractor holder during surgery, providing direct patient care.
• Arrange sterile setup, adjust lights, and clean the operating room.
• Prepare patients' skin prior to surgery, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
• Absorb patient positioning and transportation, following the instructions of the surgical RN.
• Provide personal care assistance to patients and participate in the development of their care plan.
• Communicate observations and data collection to the Clinical Associate on a regular basis.
• Collect test specimens as per established procedures and document patient care activities.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification is mandatory.
• Ability to speak and write English fluently is essential, with bilingual candidates preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is essential.
• Patient care education or direct patient care experience is a must.
• Previous surgical experience is an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with team members are required.
• The ability to demonstrate flexibility, problem-solving skills, and good judgment is necessary.
• Proficiency in Clinical Applications is preferred, with training provided for incumbents.
