Operating Engineer – JLL What this job involves: As an Operating Engineer at JLL, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of building systems that keep our facilities running smoothly. In this hands-on position, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and life safety systems while delivering exceptional service to building occupants. This role offers the opportunity to work with advanced building automation systems, apply your technical expertise across multiple disciplines, and contribute directly to creating safe, comfortable environments that support JLL's commitment to operational excellence and client satisfaction. What your day-to-day will look like: Operate and maintain facility systems safely in accordance with all government and regulatory compliance requirementsPerform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systemsMonitor equipment performance, record operational readings, and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal system efficiencyRespond promptly and professionally to customer service requests and emergency situations throughout the facilityConduct routine safety inspections, identify potential hazards, and enforce safety protocols to maintain a secure work environmentCoordinate with outside contractors, monitor work quality and pricing, and ensure project completion standards are metMaintain accurate maintenance records, documentation, and assist with incident investigations as required Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalentMinimum 4 years of hands-on experience in electrical trade OR HVAC/refrigeration trade, or equivalent combination of education and experienceValid U.S. driver's license with clean driving recordAbility to work safely with proper personal protective equipment (PPE) in various facility environmentsPhysical capability to perform frequent walking, climbing stairs and ladders, bending, kneeling, lifting, and overhead work Preferred Qualifications: Universal Technician Certification for CFCs (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)Trade school education or certification in HVAC, electrical, or related technical fieldExperience working with computer-controlled building automation systems and energy management platformsWorking knowledge of thermodynamic principles, electrical theory, and mechanical systems operationProficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation and reportingStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities with demonstrated analytical skillsExcellent customer service orientation and interpersonal communication skills Location: Kennesaw, GA Work Shift: 1st Shift
