Operating Engineer 1 or 2 (HVAC)

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance on boilers and related equipment.
• Maintains logs detailing boiler and pump operations.
• Starts and stops pumps, fires boilers, adjusts fuel and airflow, regulates water levels, and checks gauges.
• Performs minor repairs and assists with major repairs.
• Administers chemicals to closed systems and tests water.
• Maintains and repairs HVAC and heating units.
• Monitors and adjusts HVAC equipment using electronic automation systems.
• Assists with wastewater treatment and pump station maintenance.

Requirements

• Two years of experience or training in operating or maintaining large stationary engines or mechanical equipment.
• Necessary special requirement: Refrigerant recycling and recovery certification (EPA Section 608).

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications for (OPERATING ENGINEER 2): Two years of experience or training.
• Minimum qualifications for (OPERATING ENGINEER 1): One year of experience or training.
