Engineer II - Mechanical / HVAC

About the role

H.F. Lenz Engineering (HFL), a leading consulting engineering firm is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer / Designer for our growing team in Pittsburgh, PA. This role will be responsible for performing engineering and design focused on HVAC systems for various commercial buildings and facilities. The candidate will work closely with our team to turn our client's needs and our ideas into reality utilizing AutoCAD and Revit modeling. The candidate will also be responsible for performing load calculations and sizing equipment. This role also presents the opportunity to learn from professional engineering staff, conduct field studies & construction observation, and interface with clients and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering and design focused on HVAC systems for various commercial buildings and facilities
• Work closely with the team to turn client needs into reality using AutoCAD and Revit modeling
• Perform load calculations and size equipment
• Learn from professional engineering staff
• Conduct field studies & construction observation
• Interface with clients and vendors

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
• 0-5 years of mechanical or HVAC design experience preferred (or a combination of experience with education and training)
• EIT/FE certification is a plus
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit or Inventor required
• Knowledge of construction, ASHRAE codes and specifications preferred
