Job Summary

The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program invites applications for a full-time, 9-month faculty position. The ideal candidate will have expertise in neurological rehabilitation and inpatient care, with additional experience managing complex patient cases across the continuum of care. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of faculty dedicated to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service, contributing to the mission of preparing competent and compassionate physical therapists who serve their communities through evidence-based practice. This position also includes responsibilities in teaching, scholarship, and service to the program, college, and university.

Responsibilities

  • Teach in the Doctor of Physical Therapy curriculum in assigned areas of expertise, with emphasis on neurological rehabilitation and inpatient practice environments.
  • Provide instruction and mentorship in related clinical content areas, including acute care, home health, and skilled nursing facility (SNF) practice.
  • Engage in scholarly activity consistent with program and institutional expectations, including research, publication, and professional presentations.
  • Advise and mentor students regarding academic, clinical, and professional development.
  • Participate in program and curriculum development to ensure alignment with current practice standards and CAPTE accreditation requirements.
  • Contribute to service activities within the program, department, college, university, and professional community.

  • Ability to integrate clinical experience into academic instruction using evidence-based and contemporary teaching methods.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Earned doctorate (PhD, EdD, ScD, DSc, DPT, or tDPT) required.
  • Eligibility for physical therapy licensure in the State of Texas is required.
  • Record of clinical experience in neurological and/or inpatient rehabilitation practice.
  • Experience managing complex patient cases in acute care, home health, or SNF settings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced clinical competency such as completion of a clinical fellowship or residency or ABPTS board certification.
  • Established record of academic or clinical teaching experience.
  • Record of scholarly productivity and professional service.

Salary

$80,000 - $95,000
