Responsibilities

  • Teach technical courses related to AI and health data at the graduate and undergraduate level
  • Serve as the lead for the Bouvé concentrations in the MS Artificial Intelligence and MS Data Science degree programs throughout the Northeastern global university system
  • Mentor students in their area of expertise
  • Participate in service to the department, university, and discipline

Qualifications

  • PhD, ScD (or equivalent) in Applied Mathematics, Biology, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Psychology, Public Health, Social Sciences, Statistics, or related fields by the appointment start date
  • Strong record of accomplishment demonstrating the ability to succeed at teaching technical courses on AI and health data to students from backgrounds ranging from health to computer science
  • Appointment at an academic rank above the Assistant level will be commensurate with experience and qualifications reflecting a record of demonstrated teaching excellence
  • Candidates seeking appointment at the Associate or Full Teaching Professor level should have a minimum of 5 or 10 years of demonstrated teaching, scholarship, and administrative excellence, respectively

  • Part 1: Please describe your experience with health data, AI/ML, or related fields including the projects you have participated in, any funding you have received to support the work (if applicable), and the results and products of these efforts. Please also describe any data/ML/AI work you have undertaken with students and the external community or research you have undertaken with students in a mentor role (such as thesis or capstone course advisor).

  • Part 2: Describe your teaching experience, including the courses you have participated in designing or teaching, your pedagogical philosophy, plans/goals for teaching (including existing and proposed courses), and your strategies for teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.

  • Part 3: Please summarize your administrative experience (if applicable) or interest in serving as an academic lead in an interdisciplinary program.

Pay Range

  • 52-week salary ranges: Assistant Teaching Professor: $109,000 - $128,000 | Associate Teaching Professor: $126,000 - $146,000 | Teaching Professor: $161,000 - $179,000
