Open Rank Professor, 12 Months Salaried (Geriatrics - Medicine)

Location: Tallahassee, FL | Full-time, 12-month salaried faculty position

Responsibilities

• Teach and supervise health professional students, assisting in the delivery of an innovative, integrated curriculum and practice in a clinical facility.
• Provide approximately 50% direct patient care at an affiliated primary care practice (credentialing required).
• Contribute to the Department’s research interests in geriatrics workforce enhancement and geriatric syndromes.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
• Completion of an approved U.S. Residency Program.
• Board Certification in Geriatric Medicine, or ability to obtain within one year of hire and participate in maintenance of certification.
• Valid Florida medical license (or ability to obtain) in accordance with Chapter 458, Florida Statutes.
• Demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.
• Personal and professional goals aligned with the mission of the FSU College of Medicine.
• Ability to foster an educational environment conducive to patient-centered medical education for students, physician assistants, and other healthcare learners.

• Experience teaching healthcare students.
• Relevant academic, clinical, and professional experience.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Passion for the field of geriatric medicine.
