About the role

The Department of Graphic Design and Industrial Design within the College of Design provides teaching, research, and scholarship within the discipline of Graphic Design, Experience Design, and Industrial Design. The College of Design offers comprehensive undergraduate and graduate study in architecture, art + design, graphic design, experience design, industrial design, and graduate studies in landscape architecture, through several degree programs, including the Ph.D. in Design and Doctor of Design. The College employs a selective admissions process that ensures a highly motivated design community. As a result, entering design students consistently rank at the top of academic achievement at the University, and their graduation rate is the highest at NC State University.

Responsibilities

  • Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Assistant Teaching Professor, Associate Teaching Professor, or Teaching Professor positions are available.
  • Specific teaching opportunities include studios at all levels, including advanced comprehensive studios and/or special topic seminar courses.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master of Graphic Design, Master of Experience Design, or Industrial Design accredited professional degree with professional practice in Graphic Design, Experience Design, or Industrial Design, an equivalent degree, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Or terminal degree in a field relevant to the specific area of instruction (i.e. graphic design, experience design, industrial design) with professional practice in that related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the professional field.
  • Demonstrated competency with a mix of traditional and leading-edge technologies.
