About the role
The Center Emerging and Re-emerging Pathogens and the Public Health Research Institute at New Jersey Medical School, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences, located in Newark, NJ, invites applications for full time, tenure-track appointments at the Professor level. We are currently recruiting candidates with expertise in basic and applied research in Covid-19, Tuberculosis or Tuberculosis and HIV. The position will be supported by a competitive start-up package with exceptional candidates being considered for further support as Chancellor Scholars.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include conducting cutting-edge research in emerging and re-emerging pathogens, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, mentoring students and postdocs, and contributing to the development of public health policies and practices.
Requirements
- PhD in a relevant field (e.g., microbiology, immunology, public health)
- Proven track record of research excellence in Covid-19, Tuberculosis, or Tuberculosis and HIV
- Strong publication record in high-impact journals
- Excellent communication and teaching skills
Qualifications
- Ability to secure external funding
- Experience in grant writing and proposal development
- Leadership in research and academic communities
Skills
- Expertise in computational biology and bioinformatics
- Knowledge of infectious disease epidemiology
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
