About the role

The Department of Psychology in the College of Science, at the University of Texas at Arlington, invites applications for one tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level and one endowed position (Thompson Chair) at the full or associate professor level. We are seeking candidates with expertise in any area of Industrial and Organizational (I/O) Psychology or closely related fields.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an active program of scholarship, secure external funding, contribute to doctoral and master’s-level graduate training, and teach graduate and undergraduate courses in their areas of expertise.
• For the Assistant Professor position: Teach graduate and undergraduate courses, receive teaching releases and light service workload in the first two years, and develop a productive research lab.
• For the Thompson Chair position: Serve as the founding Director of the department’s new I/O Psychology Ph.D. program, lead doctoral curriculum development, oversee recruitment and admissions, support doctoral student professional development, and represent the program to university administration and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in I/O psychology or a closely related field.
• Evidence of potential to secure external funding.
• Evidence of effective teaching at the graduate or undergraduate level.

Qualifications

• For the Assistant Professor position: Developing program of peer-reviewed scholarship in I/O psychology or a closely related area.
• For the Thompson Chair position: Sustained record of I/O scholarship commensurate with appointment at the associate or full professor level.
• Evidence of effective teaching at the graduate or undergraduate level.
• Demonstrated experience mentoring doctoral students.
• Experience in graduate program administration or academic leadership.

Skills

Strong research and teaching skills, ability to secure external funding, and a commitment to doctoral mentorship are essential.
