Job Summary
The Medical College of Georgia, Cardiothoracic Surgery Section, at Augusta University is currently seeking a part time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, to serve as a Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgeon.
Opportunities are available for research support for candidates with appropriate experience and interest. This position does not meet the requirement to be on a tenure track.
Required Qualifications
MD, DO, or equivalent from an appropriately accredited institution.
Board certified in Congenital Heart Surgery by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery or equivalent
3 to 5 years of experience is required
Independence with STAT I and II index surgical cases
Independence with overall critical care patient management
Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Georgia.
Must be an innovative self-starter with a commitment to excellence.
Interest in clinical outcomes research
Assistant Professor- Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate post graduate training.
Associate Professor- Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
Professor- Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
This position is fiscal year based and works year-round. Amount of time worked is based on work commitment.
The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is between 0.75 and 0.99 FTE. The FTE will be determined at the time of hire after discussions during the interview process with the successful candidate.
Although this position is fully benefits eligible and can select from the robust University System of Georgia (USG) benefits package, this position is not considered full-time. Only positions at 1.0 FTE are considered full-time.
Assistant Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
Associate Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.

The Medical College of Georgia (MCG) is one of the nation's largest medical schools by class size, with 304 students per class.
