About the role
This is a full-time faculty position within the Department of Pediatrics.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the attending physician responsible for the care of critically ill and step-down pediatric cardiac patients, including those with heart failure or on mechanical circulatory support.
- Service time will align with the division's needs, typically benchmarked at 14-16 weeks per year and 52 on-call shifts.
- Teach pediatric critical care and pediatric cardiology fellows, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and other unit-based personnel.
- Pursue research interests in basic science or clinical fields.
- Participate in various training and educational activities, leading quality improvement and care process initiatives.
- Contribute to developing clinical practice plans and protocols and engage in simulation-based team performance and skills enhancement activities.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree required.
- Board-certified in Pediatrics.
- Board-certified or eligible in pediatric cardiology or pediatric critical care with formal advanced clinical training in cardiac intensive care medicine (minimum of 12 months).
- Florida medical license (or eligibility).
