About the role

This is a full-time faculty position within the Department of Pediatrics.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the attending physician responsible for the care of critically ill and step-down pediatric cardiac patients, including those with heart failure or on mechanical circulatory support.
  • Service time will align with the division's needs, typically benchmarked at 14-16 weeks per year and 52 on-call shifts.
  • Teach pediatric critical care and pediatric cardiology fellows, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and other unit-based personnel.
  • Pursue research interests in basic science or clinical fields.
  • Participate in various training and educational activities, leading quality improvement and care process initiatives.
  • Contribute to developing clinical practice plans and protocols and engage in simulation-based team performance and skills enhancement activities.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree required.
  • Board-certified in Pediatrics.
  • Board-certified or eligible in pediatric cardiology or pediatric critical care with formal advanced clinical training in cardiac intensive care medicine (minimum of 12 months).
  • Florida medical license (or eligibility).
