Job Summary
The Department of Neurology at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University is seeking a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor as a board-certified faculty member with training in vascular stroke neurology.
Responsibilities
- Pursuing your passion as related to our clinical, research, and educational missions
- Evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of adults with stroke or vascular disorders
- Attending on the inpatient PCU or ICU stroke service
- Providing ambulatory care for children with epilepsy
- Providing inpatient stroke consultation
- Education of residents, medical students, and fellows
- Pursuit of external funding to support clinical services and research programs
- Representing the department of neurology on committees as requested by the chair
- Attending Department faculty meetings and other scholarly events and conferences
Required Qualifications
- MD/DO or equivalent from an appropriately accredited institution
- Must have or be able to obtain a medical license in the state of Georgia, obtain a federal DEA, and be CPR certified
- Proven history of excellent clinical skills, involvement with clinical research, and strong desire to be involved with resident teaching
Assistant Professor - Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate post graduate training.
Associate Professor - Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
Professor - Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
- This position is fiscal year based and works year-round.
- The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time.
- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.

The Medical College of Georgia is one of the nation’s largest medical schools by class size, with 260 students per class.
