Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor boilers, controls, and auxiliary equipment in both automatic and manual modes.
- Monitor system performance through gauges, instrumentation, and computerized control systems.
- Operate manual valves and perform routine equipment inspections.
- Read, record, and maintain operating data and logs.
- Cover water treatment and system monitoring tasks, including conducting water analysis and testing, collecting process samples, and performing routine system readings.
- Monitor operating conditions and identify equipment abnormalities.
- Oversee sulfuric acid and caustic truck unloading operations.
- Change filter bags in multiple buildings and pond systems.
- Afford support with utility system operations as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Current Third Class Stationary Engineer's License or Ohio Boiler Operator's License.
- Experience operating industrial boilers and auxiliary equipment.
- Experience working with pneumatic, electronic, and computerized control systems.
- Ability to operate equipment in both automatic and manual modes.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to climb stairs, grated walkways, and uneven surfaces.
- Ability to climb straight steel permanent ladders.
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
- Ability to wear all required PPE.
Work Schedule
- 12-hour rotating shift schedule.
- Shifts begin at 4:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
- Must be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
- Must be capable of working more than 8 hours per day and more than 40 hours per week when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in chemical manufacturing, refining, power generation, or industrial processing environments.
- Experience with water treatment systems and steam generation equipment.
- Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) or similar computerized operating systems.
Work Environment
- This position operates within a 24/7 chemical manufacturing facility.
- Employees work around industrial equipment, steam systems, chemicals, elevated work areas, and outdoor environments.
- Strict adherence to all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements is mandatory.
