About the Role

OOSC is seeking a Patient Representative to demonstrate and provide outstanding patient experiences through set intake and scheduling processes. This position is well-suited for individuals with front office and billing experience in the surgical setting.

The Patient Representative handles the day-to-day activities of the front office department, ensuring the smooth flow of patients from scheduling to intake for surgery. You will be the role model for outstanding service, working with patients who may be in pain and need compassionate support.

You will collaborate with Patient Navigators at an OOSC sister company, DMOS, and have access to peer leaders and training support for your daily tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Manage intake, scheduling, and welcoming patients at the registration desk.
  • Answer phones and page other professionals in a kind and audible manner.
  • Ensure patient impact of office activities complies with practice standards.
  • Improve the patient and physician relationship through exceptional service.
  • Handle conversations with patients who may be in pain and require understanding and patience.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Use feedback constructively to improve processes and patient care.

Requirements

  • High school graduate with some experience in a medical office.
  • Strong typing and computer skills.
  • Ability to work at a desk for extended periods.
  • Kind, curious, and helpful demeanor with patients and colleagues.
  • Ability to think on your feet and use an indoor voice professionally.
  • Passion for orthopaedics or healthcare administration (certificate a plus).
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.

Schedule

Typical hours are Monday through Friday, between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM.
