Ontario City Library - Makerspace or Computer Assistant (25/26) - FWS Only
About the role
The Ontario City Library is seeking individuals who are passionate about helping others learn technology, DIY and new skills. Makerspace assistants provide one-on-one assistance to teens and adults with the use of makerspace equipment such as 3D printers, a laser cutter, Cricut, virtual reality devices, sewing machines, and other similar equipment. Computer assistants provide individual assistance to the public on the use of the library’s public computers and public checkout laptops, navigating online, printing, and copying, and may also assist patrons with library‑related apps, databases, and resources, as well as troubleshoot personal device connectivity issues. Applicants must be currently enrolled at ULV and have a Federal Work Study award to be eligible. There is one position available at Ovitt Family Community Library and one position available at Lewis Family Branch Library.
Responsibilities
- Provide one‑on‑one assistance to teens and adults with makerspace equipment (3D printers, laser cutter, Cricut, VR devices, sewing machines, etc.)
- Provide individual assistance to the public on the use of library public computers and checkout laptops (navigating online, printing, copying)
