About the role
The Transportation Supervisor oversees the Transportation department, ensuring ELD performance, DOT compliance, and driver support.
Responsibilities
- ELD Performance Oversight: Oversee, evaluate, and ensure ELD performance while working with the ELD Coordinator to resolve any issues.
- DOT Compliance: Communicate, review, and ensure compliance with DOT regulations; maintain updated logs for driver review.
- Driver Support: Resolve driver issues and needs, both on and off the road.
- Routing Adjustments: Review backhaul assignments and make necessary adjustments to routing or delivery plans.
- Time Off Coordination: Coordinate time off requests with appropriate management personnel.
- Documentation Accuracy: Ensure driver documentation is completed accurately on a daily basis.
- Efficient Routing: Collaborate with Logistics to establish and optimize efficient routing.
- Daily Issue Management: Review the communication log and address any open issues daily.
- Performance Analysis: Analyze driver performance and provide recommendations to appropriate personnel.
- Supervisory Support: Assist the Transportation Manager in carrying out supervisory responsibilities, including directing Dispatchers and resolving departmental personnel issues.
- Project Management: Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills
- Organizational Skills: Demonstrated ability to stay organized and work with minimal supervision.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
- Computer Proficiency: Good computer skills, including MS Office Suite, scheduling software, and routing software.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Safety and Compliance Knowledge: Knowledge of driver safety and DOT compliance requirements.
- Employee Development: Ability to motivate and develop employees.
Education and Experience
- Educational Background: Associate's degree with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in transportation or a related role, including at least one (1) year in a supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Industry Experience: Experience in the food industry is preferred.
Pay Range
$62,353.20 - $92,900.00
