Onsite Service Technician

Duties & Responsibilities

• Document and complete warranty work; troubleshoot breakdowns.
• Perform preventive maintenance and respond to emergency service calls.
• Support customers by effectively interfacing with them and repairing equipment as needed.
• Make electrical and/or mechanical adjustments or repairs with or without engineered drawings.
• Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, and inspection checklists.
• Maintain rapport with customers by examining complaints, identifying solutions, suggesting improved methods and techniques, and recommending system improvements.
• Develop a working knowledge of Federal, State, and local codes for overhead cranes and hoists.
• Responsible for company equipment including company vehicles, tools, etc.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years’ troubleshooting cranes and hoist equipment experience required.
• Working knowledge of 3-phase motors, VFDs, contactors, and circuits.
• Overhead crane and scissor lift experience required.
• Afforded an associate’s degree with a concentration in Industrial Electrician, Electro-Mechanical Technology, preferred.
• Ability to work at heights, in extreme temperatures, and in noisy locations.
• This is a physically demanding job involving standing, walking, sitting, and the ability to lift 50-100 lbs.
• Ability to inspect equipment to OSHA criteria.
• Ability to work independently.
• Capable of dealing directly with customers and representing both the company and the customer.
• Communication skills both internally and externally, informing both the company and the customer about the status of the job.
• Quality and results-driven while maintaining a safety mindset.
• Required to use own hand tools and meters.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
