Duties & Responsibilities

  • Service technicians will conduct OSHA equivalent inspections, document warranty work, and troubleshoot breakdowns.
  • Preventive maintenance will be performed, and emergency service calls will be responded to promptly.
  • Service technicians will support customers by interfacing with them and the office to repair equipment as needed.
  • Electrical and/or mechanical adjustments or repairs will be made with or without engineered drawings.
  • Rapport with customers will be maintained through examination of complaints, identification of solutions, suggestion of improved methods and techniques, and recommendation of system improvements.
  • Service and installation actions will be documented using forms, reports, and inspection checklists.
  • A professional presentation, timeliness, appearance, and organization will be maintained in all areas.
  • A working knowledge of Federal, State, and local codes for overhead cranes and hoists will be developed.
  • The technician will be responsible for maintaining company equipment, including company vehicles, tools, etc.

Education & Qualifications

  • At least 2-5 years’ experience troubleshooting cranes and hoist equipment is required.
  • A working knowledge of 3-phase motors, VFDs, contactors, and circuits is required.
  • Overhead crane and scissor lift experience is required.
  • An associate’s degree with a concentration in Industrial Electrician, Electro-Mechanical Technology, is preferred.
  • The ability to work at heights, in extreme temperatures, and in noisy locations is required.
  • This is a physically demanding job involving standing, walking, sitting, and the ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Performing inspections to OSHA criteria is required.
  • The ability to work independently is required.
  • The capability to deal directly with customers and represent both the company and themselves professionally is required.
  • Effective communication skills both internally and externally, informing both the company and the customer about the status of the job, are required.
  • A quality and results-driven approach while maintaining a safety mindset is required.
  • The technician must be able to use their own hand tools and meter.
  • A valid driver’s license with a good driving record is required.
