Onsite Project Controls Specialist – AR

About the role
Invera Energy is seeking a bright, motivated, and conscientious Onsite Project Controls Specialist to work full-time in Mississippi County, Arkansas. This position will be based in a construction trailer for approximately twenty-one (21) months, with potential transition to remote work or another job site afterward. The role provides technical, project controls, contracting, and administrative support for a utility-scale solar project, offering exposure to solar energy technologies, heavy construction, and the renewable energy market. Responsibilities
- Perform document controls, reporting, and administrative functions in support of construction project staff.
- Oversee training, setup, administration, and compliance monitoring for document controls software systems.
- Prepare and modify construction progress documents, including correspondence, reports, memos, presentations, and emails for contract compliance.
- Respond to routine external correspondence.
- Prepare, manage, and verify expense reports; assist in tracking project budget management.
- Perform general office functions, including photocopying and mailing.
- Provide basic document control training to the site team, EPC Contractor, and other suppliers or contractors (training will be provided).
- Manage transmittals, requests for information, and submittals under the supervision of the project management team.
- Assist with tracking construction progress and man-hour reporting as a technical inspector and maintain up-to-date tracking information.
- Assist with obtaining information for Independent Engineer requests and coordinate owner’s responses with the project manager.
- Assist in planning and monitoring project quality control activities and documentation; maintain onsite and electronic filing.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, onsite visits, and travel arrangements.
- Record, compile, transcribe, and distribute minutes of meetings.
- Maintain the most current drawing sets.
- Interact with contractors, vendors, engineers, architects, landowners, and clients to facilitate communication and issue resolution.
- Support the construction team in resolving day-to-day project issues.
- Elevate site issues or concerns to appropriate staff.
- Ensure all EPC Contractor and equipment supplier logs and inspection reports are complete and filed onsite and electronically.
- Ensure completion of closeout documentation onsite and in electronic format; provide updates as required.
- Maintain workflow by following Owner procedures outlined in exhibits, contracts, and direction.
- Maintain supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
- Coordinate communications between equipment suppliers and other contractors onsite.
- Coordinate maintenance of office equipment, safety equipment, and supplies.
- Maintain company vehicles.
- Coordinate project safety requirements in compliance with company policies, including setting up contracts with local medical providers and resources for drug testing.
- Support coordination of deliveries and receivables.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management preferred; minimum two-year associate degree in construction management or other technical/engineering area, or equivalent experience required.
- Direct experience with, or ability to learn, office administrative tasks, protocols, and basic office management.
- Knowledge of, or ability to learn, project controls procedures and systems, including document configuration management, invoice reviews, and submittals.
- Competent computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and Adobe.
- Internet skills, including email, group messaging, information-gathering, and social media for community outreach.
- Familiarity with construction and construction sites is preferred.
- Experience with quality control processes, procedures, and documentation is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work legally in the United States.
- Ability to write, speak, read, and understand English.
- Ability to walk on uneven terrain.
- Ability to wear PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) if in the field.

Pay
Compensation range: $70,000–85,000, depending on experience. Relocation packages may be available.
Schedule
This is a full-time, exempt position. The role is initially located at a construction site in Mississippi County, Arkansas for approximately 21 months, with potential transition to remote support or relocation to another U.S. job site afterward.
