Job Description
This is a supplemental contract to begin during the 2024-2025 school year and extend through the 2025-2026 school year.
About the role
This is an online course development position to build one new full credit online ASL course in a learning management system with the support of a development team and under the leadership of the Director of Applied Technology.
Responsibilities
- Manage time to be able to provide 5-8 hours (approx.) per week.
- Meet all project benchmarks and deadlines.
- Locate or create age-appropriate content that aligns with academic learning standards.
- Design age-appropriate activities that are competency-based, engaging and provide opportunities for connection and personalization.
- Build a detailed course outline using a template that aligns with the applicable learning standards.
- Utilize Quality Matters-aligned best practices throughout the course development process (including but not limited to ADA, DEI, and SEL).
- Locate/confirm that all content aligns with fair use and copyright guidelines.
- Attend and engage in professional development and Build Team sessions; apply learning to the course development process.
- Attend Team meetings to collect and provide feedback.
- Collaborate with the Build Team.
- Communicate effectively and in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Ohio teaching license in content area
- Knowledge of ODE’s learning standards for the course to be developed
- Access to up-to-date laptop or desktop w/ reliable internet
Qualifications
- Experience in teaching the course or comparable course in the last 5 years
- Experience teaching online
- Experience with using Agilix Buzz LMS
Benefits
- Compensation: $2,700 to be paid in two sums at midpoint and upon completion and approval.
