About The Bancroft School
The Bancroft School is a unique educational program that empowers students with autism by providing teachable moments throughout their day. It includes traditional academic subjects, daily living and social skills, art, music, adaptive physical education, enrichment activities, and an activity pool for water safety, swim instruction, and recreation.
Responsibilities
- Provides assistance and support to Teacher in the planning and implementation of classroom instruction to specifically meet the educational needs of the assigned student.
- Encourages and supports the student to contribute to the best possible educational experience.
- Assists Teacher in establishing and maintaining a classroom environment conducive to maximum academic and social learning by maintaining order and guiding each student to socially appropriate behavior.
- Aids in the development and implementation of lesson plans and activities that are individual-specific, meet the learning needs of each student, encourage increased skills, and address specific IEP goals.
- Makes recommendations to Teacher regarding the purchase and usage of new supplies and curriculum materials.
- Observes and tracks student behavior, gathers behavioral data, performs calculations, and creates graphic illustrations for review by Teachers, clinical-specific staff, etc., to identify and monitor student proficiency and performance levels, to support modifications to current educational program.
- Provides ongoing assistance to Teacher in the management of individual behavior of students to create and maintain a safe and secure classroom environment.
- Reports any safety hazards, property damage, etc. to Teacher.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of three (3) years of direct support experience, preferably within an educational or classroom-based setting.
- Completion of 30 college credits with at least six (6) months of related work experience.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is strongly preferred.

Pay
Hourly Rate starting from $23.01-$25.22 /hr. (based on years of experience)
Schedule
Full Time In Person 8:30a-3:30p - M-F
