Responsibilities
- Provides clinical care including assessment, triage, and therapeutic management of patient/family needs.
- Collaborates with supervising/collaborating physicians to manage patient treatment plans, perform procedures, and prescribe treatments.
- May function as first or second assistant on operative cases, utilizing fine motor skills and manual dexterity.
- Engages in patient education and psychosocial support, providing care and resources to patients, families, and significant others.
- Ensures appropriate documentation and maintains confidentiality of patient information.
- Demonstrates high moral and ethical behavior, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulatory requirements.
- Maintains professional development through ongoing education, mentoring, and participation in research and quality improvement projects.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Experience in relevant clinical specialty/service line preferred, but not required.
- Licensure: Active PA Certification by NCCPA, Connecticut State Physician Assistant License, Connecticut State Nurse Practitioner License, DEA License, PALS, NRP Certification, depending on specialty.
- Continuing education and certifications may be required based on position and area of specialty.
