Responsibilities

  • Ensure the appropriate use and stewardship of medical supplies and equipment to support patient safety and operational efficiency
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and staff, maintaining professional relationships and promoting a positive environment
  • Assess patients and respond promptly to changes in their condition
  • Manage emergency patient situations, including codes
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols
  • Educate patients and families about treatment plans and care procedures
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
  • Educate patients and families on health conditions, procedures, and care plans, ensuring understanding and compliance based on assessed learning needs
  • Participate in continuous education and training to stay current with nursing practices
  • Follow CDC isolation guidelines, demonstrate appropriate use of PPE, perform hand hygiene according to policy, and enforce safety regulations
  • Promote a positive patient experience by demonstrating caring behaviors, maintaining clear communication, and collaborating with the care team to provide safe, timely, and effective whole person care

Requirements

  • Associate's of Nursing degree [Required]
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing [Preferred]
  • Field of study in nursing BSN [Required]
  • 1+ years of experience in acute care nursing [Required]
  • Oncology experience [Preferred]

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license [Required]
  • Basic Life Support - CPR certification (BLS) [Required]
  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification [Preferred]
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) [Preferred]

Skills

  • Excellent clinical nursing expertise in oncology care
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Computer proficiency
