Oncology Field Medical Director responsible for providing therapeutic-area and product expertise in malignant hematology and pipeline across medical customer segments in Northern CA, OR, WA, ID, AK, and HI.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute medical strategy and engagement for assigned customers in the territory, coordinating with Pfizer colleagues to achieve medical objectives.
- Maintain expertise in malignant hematology and Pfizer medicines, providing therapeutic-area and product information to internal and external stakeholders.
- Serve as a resource for medical information and customer insights, sharing HCP viewpoints with Pfizer while complying with company guidance.
- Contribute to medical content strategy development and execute aligned Field Medical tactics.
- Collaborate with headquarters medical colleagues and other Field Medical teams to ensure effective communication.
- Deliver approved medical content about Pfizer medicines and malignant hematology topics through multiple channels (live/virtual presentations, written communication, telephone).
- Identify and engage priority customer segments in malignant hematology.
- Respond to unsolicited medical requests from HCPs with truthful, accurate, and scientifically supported information per Pfizer guidelines.
- Field inbound queries from HCPs via established triage processes.
- Partner with Global Medical Affairs, Oncology Research & Development, and Global Product Development to identify clinical trial sites, including those serving under-represented patient populations.
- Provide medical support throughout the Investigator Sponsored Research (ISR) process.
- Cultivate expertise in malignant hematology, including familiarity with latest congress data and disease-state literature.
- Communicate study design, methodology, data analysis, and interpretation concepts to customers.
- Engage with local Patient Advocacy Groups in collaboration with Corporate Affairs and HQ Medical Affairs.
- Deliver insights on local patient organization structure, capabilities, and patient population needs.
- Serve on Medical and/or therapeutic-area cross-functional committees.
- Represent Pfizer Medical Affairs leadership with clinical/professional associations and societies.
- Participate in mentorship activities, including onboarding, advisory boards, and study leadership.
- Participate in special projects as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a health science required.
- Relevant experience: PharmD/PhD with 5+ years, MBA/MSc with 7+ years, or BA/BSc with 8+ years of experience.
- Subject-matter expertise in malignant hematology recognized by internal and external stakeholders.
- Currently reside in one of the following states: Northern CA, OR, WA, ID, AK, or HI (preference for major cities in Northern CA, OR, or WA).
- Ability to manage a high volume of remote projects, prioritize effectively, and demonstrate excellent judgment.
- Work within a matrixed, multi-disciplinary team to foster strong Pfizer-customer relationships aligned with medical objectives.
- Lead and adapt to change in an evolving healthcare environment.
- Problem-solve and network enterprise-wide to identify solutions.
- Rapidly adopt and utilize new digital technologies for customer interactions and record medical engagements.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Operate a Pfizer company car and travel 60-80% of the time, including air travel (proximity to an airline hub city required).
Preferred Qualifications
- PharmD, PhD, or equivalent terminal doctoral degree (e.g., Doctor of Nursing Practice, Doctor of Health Sciences) highly preferred.
- Deep expertise and/or clinical experience in malignant hematology.
- Established network of HCPs in the territory (Northern CA, OR, WA, ID, AK, HI).
- Familiarity with internal/external SOPs, rules, and regulations regarding Pfizer-customer interactions.
- Previous Field Medical experience.
- Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and ability to collaborate effectively with peers and stakeholders.
- Self-starter with accountability and a sense of urgency in delivering medically impactful results.

Pay
Annual base salary range: $176,600.00 to $294,300.00. Eligible for a 20% bonus target through Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan and participation in the share-based long-term incentive program.
Schedule
- Flexibility to travel 60-80% of the time.
- Ability to work on weekends (e.g., attend advisory boards, regional meetings, and congresses).
- Work location: Remote (field-based).
