ONCOLOGY ADMINISTRATOR
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field required, Master's preferred. 5-8+ years of experience in healthcare management, with direct experience in oncology or specialty practices.
Responsibilities
- Captures the clinical delivery of medical and radiation oncology as well as the Ambulatory Infusion Center (AIC).
- Manages the financial and budgetary aspects of a comprehensive oncology center encompassing radiation, medical, and administrative oncology services.
- Manages the financial and budgetary aspects of the AIC.
- Manages a clinical drug trials program with a focus on clinical application.
- Manages appropriate drug utilization and cost-effective programs for chemotherapy and other medications.
- Supervises oncology and AIC human resources, including performance evaluations, counseling, hiring, retention, and staff education.
- Applies total quality management principles, including writing, monitoring, and implementing performance improvement plans.
- Ensures compliance with JCAHO for the Oncology Program and AIC as well as ACS/Commission on Cancer standards and the preparation process that accompanies these survey programs.
- Leadership in cancer care program design, development, implementation, and monitoring.
- Leadership in the AIC design, development, implementation, and monitoring.
- Leadership in marketing and program coordination and promotion for oncology and AIC services.
- Leadership in oncology services product line management as well as integration of AIC services into other product lines.
- Leadership in regional cancer program development and management.
- Collaborates with physicians in the areas of program integration, regional program services (Oncology) and clinical drug trials (Oncology) and appropriate utilization.
