Job Summary
Functions as the Manager, Administrative Operations in the Division of Medical Oncology within the Department of Internal Medicine; directs and manages day-to-day operations of division including all fiscal, human resources, and administrative affairs, activities and functions.
Responsibilities
- Directs and manages day-to-day operations of division including all fiscal, human resources, and administrative affairs, activities and functions.
- Serves as fiscal resource to division faculty.
- Oversees and performs monthly reconciliation and analysis activities.
- Creates, implements and oversees financial scorecards.
- Analyzes, evaluates and compiles summary of clinical volumes.
- Participates in the planning and establishment of financial strategic initiatives for cost savings for division.
- Supervises and monitors day-to-day activities of 16 administrative staff.
- Provides technical and administrative guidance and coordination to ensure support staff activities and workflow processes are handled in an efficient and timely manner.
- Manages all recruitment and hiring of staff.
- Hires and trains employees that provide faculty support services.
- Administers and manages performance management activities.
- Plans, assigns and monitors individual workloads and completion of work activities.
- Ensures appropriate staffing levels.
- Evaluates, identifies and makes recommendations for changes in staff numbers or structures.
- Serves as liaison between faculty and clerical staff.
- Manages and oversees capital assets.
- Oversees space assignments, renovations and relocations.
Requirements
- Masters' degree in Business Administration, health care administration or related field or an equivalent combination of education & experience required.
- Considerable business experience in an administrative or management capacity required, preferably in an academic medical or higher education environment.
- Knowledge of accounting and finance principles and practices required.
- Computer proficiency required with considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook required.
- Reasonable knowledge of University policies, procedures, rules and regulations required.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education Required: Master's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills
- Knowledge of accounting and finance principles and practices.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Reasonable knowledge of University policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
