Job Summary

Functions as the Manager, Administrative Operations in the Division of Medical Oncology within the Department of Internal Medicine; directs and manages day-to-day operations of division including all fiscal, human resources, and administrative affairs, activities and functions.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and manages day-to-day operations of division including all fiscal, human resources, and administrative affairs, activities and functions.
  • Serves as fiscal resource to division faculty.
  • Oversees and performs monthly reconciliation and analysis activities.
  • Creates, implements and oversees financial scorecards.
  • Analyzes, evaluates and compiles summary of clinical volumes.
  • Participates in the planning and establishment of financial strategic initiatives for cost savings for division.
  • Supervises and monitors day-to-day activities of 16 administrative staff.
  • Provides technical and administrative guidance and coordination to ensure support staff activities and workflow processes are handled in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Manages all recruitment and hiring of staff.
  • Hires and trains employees that provide faculty support services.
  • Administers and manages performance management activities.
  • Plans, assigns and monitors individual workloads and completion of work activities.
  • Ensures appropriate staffing levels.
  • Evaluates, identifies and makes recommendations for changes in staff numbers or structures.
  • Serves as liaison between faculty and clerical staff.
  • Manages and oversees capital assets.
  • Oversees space assignments, renovations and relocations.

Requirements

  • Masters' degree in Business Administration, health care administration or related field or an equivalent combination of education & experience required.
  • Considerable business experience in an administrative or management capacity required, preferably in an academic medical or higher education environment.
  • Knowledge of accounting and finance principles and practices required.
  • Computer proficiency required with considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook required.
  • Reasonable knowledge of University policies, procedures, rules and regulations required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Education Required: Master's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills

  • Knowledge of accounting and finance principles and practices.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Reasonable knowledge of University policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
