About the role
The Onboarding Manager leads the onboarding team and is responsible for delivering efficient, high-quality onboarding experience for Accra’s caregiver workforce. This role oversees onboarding operations end-to-end, ensuring timely hiring, strong caregiver experience, and alignment with program and compliance requirements. The Onboarding Manager partners with HR leadership and cross-functional teams to improve processes, implement tools, and scale onboarding practices that support Accra’s growth and service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Supervises a high-performing team by conducting regular one-on-one check-ins, facilitating performance reviews, and addressing disciplinary matters to ensure organizational effectiveness.
- Makes informed hiring recommendations based on interview results, reference checks, and role requirements, ensuring compliance with company policies and employment regulations.
- Delivers hands-on training to ensure new staff gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to perform their roles effectively.
- Manage performance of Onboarding team, orienting to a responsive onboarding experience for caregivers and clients.
- Ensure applications are processed in a timely manner, supporting Accra’s efforts to reduce time to hire.
- Implement new initiatives to make the onboarding process more proactive for caregivers.
- Lead onboarding support during agency closures by deploying field teams to expedite caregiver applications, including traveling within Minnesota to provide on-site leadership.
- Partner with HR Leadership and IT to successfully implement new software, collaborate to improve data integrity and reduce handoffs across systems and teams.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for onboarding workflow.
- Aid HR leadership with continuation of care plans and program transfers.
- Work closely with HR leadership to minimize onboarding handoffs, while preserving data integrity between systems.
- Foster a positive, service-oriented team culture focused on responsiveness, accuracy, and caregiver experience.
- Promote recognition of team contributions and continuous improvement within the onboarding team.
- Capable of taking on new projects that support the larger vision and mission of Accra.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; Human Resources credentials preferred (PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP).
- 2-3 years of experience in a human service or health care related field.
- Success in supervising employees with an understanding of Program Management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of services needed by people with disabilities and older adults.
- Customer service mindset with focus on caregiver experience and urgency of timely onboarding.
- Process improvement and operational thinking.
- Knowledge of applicable human resource federal and state requirements.
- Effective verbal and written skills, and the demonstrated ability to communicate challenging concepts both in-person, over the phone, and in electronic communication.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools.
