About the Role

This position provides and coordinates On-The-Job Training to employees in the operation of plant and/or department equipment, Standard Work Instructions, and assists in developing and delivering other training, including orientation, quality assurance, safety, problem solving, and continuous improvement training.

Schedule

5:30am – 2:00pm, with occasional work until 4:00pm; Monday–Friday, with some Saturdays depending on business need.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee quality standards at time of shipping as required by customers.
  • Manage customer deduction spreadsheet for warehouse damage or issues.
  • Oversee and implement the Employee Training Qualification Program, including training and validation of trainees against established objectives and recommending additional skill requirements as needed.
  • Assist in developing Standard Work Instructions, checklists, and visual aids.
  • Conduct cross training and re-qualification as required by the Training Qualification Program.
  • Support employees who have questions or need additional assistance understanding their job responsibilities.
  • Maintain files of training materials and organized logs/matrixes of all training conducted.
  • During non-training or non-production periods, work on problem solving, continuous improvement, or safety programs/training; cross train operators; assist with training in other departments; check for correct procedure and accuracy; and assist with general housekeeping.
  • Attend periodic training seminars, some requiring out-of-town or overnight arrangements.
  • Perform all training in full compliance with company, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations.
  • Notify designated personnel of any irregularities in materials, process, or equipment.
  • Assist with development, implementation, and updating of required written safety and health programs and plans.
  • Ensure monthly safety, compliance, and other required training is provided for all employees.
  • Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMPs, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure product quality; report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, quality, or personnel safety.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required: High school diploma and applicable technical knowledge. Mechanical or trade school is a plus.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Knowledge of adult education and learning techniques.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations regarding compliance training requirements.
  • Ability to multi-task, deal with employees from diverse backgrounds, and good problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Word.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Presentation skills and strong documentation practices.
  • Customer service capabilities.
  • Intermediate typing skills.
  • Ability to work indoors in a normal office setting and/or on the processing floor for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to answer phones and receive pertinent information.

Pay

$22.50 to $27.50 per hour.
