(On-Site) Associate Clinical Director - Carruth Center for Counseling & Psychological Services

About the role

The Carruth Center for Counseling & Psychological Services at West Virginia University is seeking an Associate Clinical Director. This position is a member of the Center’s leadership team and contributes to strategic planning of clinical and administrative functions.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to strategic planning of the clinical and administrative functions of the Center’s psychological, counseling, consultation, and training services/programs.
• Supports the Director in coordinating the development and implementation of clinical operations.
• Develops and updates Center’s policies to ensure compliance with accreditation, legal, and ethical guidelines, and assists in the accreditation/reaccreditation processes.
• Develops assessment goals and outcome measures and conducts regular data analyses and reports.
• Advises on operational changes based on collected data.
• Works with the Director, the leadership team, and campus partners to support and develop additional satellite centers and build an integrated, seamless system of care to meet the behavioral health needs of WVU students.
• Aims to embrace a commitment to diversity and inclusion and help build a dedicated team of professionals and trainees.
• Administers and documents risk assessments and risk reduction interventions.
• Coordinates counseling center emergency response with campus and community stakeholders.
• Provides primary and secondary call and be available for afterhours and operational hours consultation from the Director, campus partners, staff and timely on-site interventions in the event of student emergencies.
• Uses the electronic medical record to provide regular and timely data and statistical analyses to the Director on the outcomes of services and operational measures.
• Maintains awareness of evolving standards of practice in the university counseling center field and keeps informed of pertinent regulations, laws, publications and information.
• Provides comparison analysis to Director for evaluation and supports the Director in ensuring the Center policies and procedures are consistent with these standards and best practices.
• Supervises the coordination of referrals and bridge to care appointments with Student Health, the Emergency Department, and Healthy Minds University.
• Manages clinical services sections of Center website and the Center's Policy and Procedures Manual.
• Collaborates with the leadership team to provide administration, strategic planning, policy development and implementation, quality assurance, grant writing, and program evaluation initiatives.
• Provides multiculturally-sensitive brief counseling and psychotherapy for individuals, groups, and couples with diverse presenting concerns.
• Conducts comprehensive assessments and intake evaluations, triage, and participates in CCCPS's crisis intervention services, U/CC, and after-hours crisis coverage.
• Provides clinical services including but not limited to assessment, treatment planning, short-term counseling, group therapy, crisis intervention services, psychoeducation, and case management.
• Provides clinical supervision to trainees, predoctoral interns, and unlicensed staff and facilitates seminars on a variety of clinical or professional topics.
