About the role
The Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) seeks an Associate Clinical Director to oversee the design and delivery of sex offender treatment at their Moose Lake location. This position involves promoting behavior modification through therapeutic interventions and managing a secure facility.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to program development and ensure treatment delivery systems provide effective client treatment while maintaining safety.
- Oversee Clinical Supervisors to ensure staffing patterns, resource allocation, professional development, and service delivery align with best practices as defined by ATSA.
- Work with licensing entities including the Department of Health and MSOP policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain relationships with state, county, and federal agencies, advocacy groups, and the general public.
- Communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including the legal community, medical professionals, advocates, and subordinate staff.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in a human services field such as Psychology, Professional Counseling, Social Work, or related degree.
- Licensure as an independent clinical mental health professional OR licensed as an independent clinical mental health professional in another state with the ability to obtain Minnesota licensure within six months from date of hire (LP, LPCC, LMFT, LICSW).
- Three (3) years of supervisory experience, including at least 2 years of experience providing clinical supervision of mental health professionals who treat individuals with sexually abusive behavior, preferably in a secure setting, and at least 1 year of experience working on a multidisciplinary leadership team.
- Managing employee performance and directing the work of staff.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. or Psy.D. in a human services field (Psychology, Professional Counseling, Social Work, or related degrees).
- Active membership in the Association for the Treatment and Prevention of Sexual Abuse (ATSA) or other field-specific organization.
Skills
- Knowledge of diagnostic and therapeutic methods.
- Maintenance of health care records and special needs requirements.
- Treatment approaches tailored to individual clients within ethical, legal, and best practices parameters.
- Legal and criminal justice practices related to civil commitment.
