Primary Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality preventive, medical, surgical, and dental care to companion animals.
- Perform physical examinations, diagnose illnesses, and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Communicate medical findings and recommendations clearly and compassionately with clients.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records using the hospital's electronic medical record system.
- Collaborate effectively with veterinarians, credentialed veterinary technicians, assistants, and client service representatives.
- Follow VCA medical standards, protocols, and safety guidelines.
- Contribute to a positive, supportive, and respectful hospital culture.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) degree from an accredited institution.
- Active veterinary license in the state of practice, or ability to obtain one prior to employment.
- DEA license (or ability to obtain one if required).
- Strong communication, teamwork, and client service skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing schedules and hospital needs.
- Experience in small animal general practice preferred, but all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
