On Call Chaplain

About the role

The On-Call Staff Chaplain provides spiritual and emotional support to pediatric patients, families, and hospital staff during variable shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to referrals, crisis events, trauma activations, and urgent requests
• Offer rituals, prayers, and spiritual practices while respecting diverse beliefs
• Serve as a compassionate presence during stress or grief
• Collaborate with the care team to integrate spiritual needs
• Maintain confidentiality
• Ensure continuity of care through hand-offs

Qualifications

• ACPE-accredited Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)
• Endorsement from a recognized faith tradition
• Strong interpersonal and crisis intervention skills
• Experience supporting diverse backgrounds
• Preferably, experience in healthcare chaplaincy

Skills

• Proficiency in MS Office

Pay

Compensation is provided per shift, with additional pay for in-hospital response time.
