On Call Caregiver
Experienced HHA/CNA preferred, but strong work history with elderly clients will be seriously considered for non-certified applicants.
Earning Potential
The on-call caregiver has potential to make a significant amount of money. Full-time work, overtime pay, and a flat-rate on-call payment could all be combined in one pay period for a large payout.

About the Role
The main function of the on-call caregiver is to be available outside of regular business hours to the On-Call Supervisor in order to fill last-minute call-outs and urgent client needs. You will assist clients in their own homes with activities of daily living, boost their spirits, and significantly improve their quality of life by delivering quality and safe home health care services.
Responsibilities
- Agrees to be on-call during specific hours and specific days
- Will be paid a stipend for being on-call in addition to an hourly wage for any hours worked with clients
- Will return all phone calls within 15 minutes during the on-call period
- May receive calls at any time prior to or during the on-call shift (e.g., may be called at midnight to go in for an overnight if on-call 8pm–8am)
- Must be able to leave to see a client within 30 minutes of getting a call from the On-Call Supervisor
- Will accept all assignments given during the on-call period, regardless of location (including assisted livings and hospice programs)
- Forfeits on-call stipend if refuses to comply with any of the above responsibilities
- Provides necessary information on health status and experience
- Reviews client care plans prior to providing care
- Has reliable transportation to see any clients needing service during on-call time
- Communicates with the agency about problems and concerns
- Completes required documentation accurately and on a timely basis
- Respects and maintains client confidentiality at all times
- Reports concerns of client abuse or neglect
- Refrains from discussing personal problems, concerns, or opinions with client or client representatives
- Maintains access to an email account to receive client updates, schedule changes, company updates, and highlights
- Wears personal protective equipment in accordance with training procedures
- Maintains a clean, insured vehicle that has had manufacturer's recommended scheduled services
- Performs all tasks as noted in HHA, CNA, or PCA job description
- Assist client with ambulation and mobility around the house
- Assist client with personal care and hygiene
- Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the client
- Assist with shopping errands
- Perform light housekeeping duties
- Be a pleasant and supportive companion
- Report any unusual incidents
- Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergencies
