On-Call Banquet Server - Mount Rushmore National Memorial

About the role

We’re hiring On-Call/Intermittent Banquet Servers to set up banquet rooms and serve food and/or beverages in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner according to Xanterra’s high standards of quality.

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet room as instructed by Supervisor or banquet lead to include linen, service ware, and glassware.
• Attend roll call meetings before events to learn function particulars, including guest expectations.
• Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Serve food and/or beverages in the order and to the expectation of the Supervisor or banquet lead to ensure consistency throughout the banquet.
• Promptly remove dishes as guests complete each course and/or meal at the end of the function.
• Abide by all State, Federal, and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages.
• Replenish beverages as necessary and check with guests for overall satisfaction.
• Once the banquet is complete, reset the banquet room according to Supervisor’s specifications to ensure readiness for the following function.
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Previous banquet serving experience is strongly preferred.
• Willingness to “pitch-in” and help the team with tasks.
• Ability to communicate well with guests in English.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
• Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware.
• Ability to remember, recite, and promote the variety of menu items.
• Ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions to enable safe application of products and processes in Food and Beverage.

Physical Requirements

• Constantly: Standing, walking, and lifting/carrying up to 20 lbs.
• Occasionally: Sitting, climbing, crawling, squatting/kneeling, lifting/carrying over 50 lbs, and pushing/pulling over 50 lbs.

Pay

$16.00/hour
