About the role

This O&M Technician position is a multi-skilled operation and maintenance role that performs work associated with various disciplines within assigned facilities (operation, electrical, instrument, and mechanical). The position is cross-functional to provide flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Monitors, inspects, adjusts, operates, and controls power production, auxiliary, and facility equipment to ensure safe, legal, reliable, and efficient operation.
• Checks and reports on all phases of operation for difficulties or irregularities.
• Conducts duties in compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and policies.
• Assesses equipment condition through inspections, testing, and diagnostic tools.
• Performs mechanical, electrical, and instrument maintenance and reports on repairs to assigned equipment.
• Trains others in the inspection, repair, and operation of the facility.
• Keeps assigned work areas clean at all times.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Minimum of two years' experience in an industrial maintenance discipline or related experience in industry/military.
• Must work shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must pass aptitude and skill testing.
• Ability to perform heavy physical work, handling up to 50 lbs. for extended periods.
• Ability to work at heights, around water, off platforms, walkways, and scaffolding.
• Must be able to work in confined spaces.
• Must pass a respirator fit test and wear appropriate PPE as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Gas Turbine maintenance experience.
• Post-secondary/advanced education in a technical field.
• PC skills and safety background in plants.
• Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) knowledge.
• Welding, quality assurance, or lab/chemistry background.

Schedule

Normally a 12-hour rotating schedule. Overtime as required. Work schedule may change based on operational needs.

Pay

Wage rate is based on qualifications as determined by management. Employees entering the O&M Technician (Level 1-2) classification will normally start at the minimum rate.
