Oliver Wyman’s Private Equity team in North America is seeking consultants to support rapid growth. The team collaborates with private equity investors across the full transaction lifecycle—from opportunity identification through due diligence and post-transaction value realization. The practice takes a multi-specialist approach, assembling teams with deep industry and functional expertise, proprietary methodologies, and a global network to deliver differentiated results for clients. The team has completed hundreds of engagements for leading private equity firms across North America, Europe, the Middle East, China, and Southeast Asia, creating sustainable shareholder value.

Responsibilities

Senior Consultants

• Execute work streams from start to finish, including structuring and solving problems, synthesizing and communicating insights and recommendations, and work planning
• Develop research and analysis plans for themselves and more junior consultants, selecting appropriate approaches and identifying key hypotheses
• Direct the work of one or more junior consultants and become the ‘go-to’ person for the client on specific topics, shifting focus toward people and client management

Associates

• Break down complex problems into discrete tasks, identifying key aspects and directing the focus of junior consultants
• Plan and execute analysis and identify core issues in complex analyses to craft suitable recommendations
• Work side-by-side with clients and project team members to move projects forward and manage small teams
• Provide unique insight into the chosen subject area for clients and colleagues

Engagement Managers

• Lead and execute due diligence and/or post-transaction engagements supporting private equity funds and their portfolio companies
• Ensure findings are insightful and data-driven
• Provide thought leadership at a strategic level and command technical and operational execution details
• Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to forge strong relationships

Requirements

• Professional experience with commercial due diligence in a management consulting firm
• Experience working in industrials within Private Equity
• Knowledge and in-depth experience with customer research techniques (interviews, surveys, focus groups, etc.)
• Strong background in strategic problem solving with demonstrable analytical skills
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in formal and informal settings
• Fluent in English
• Undergraduate or advanced degree from a strong academic program
• Initiative-taking mindset, seeking opportunities to learn new skills and apply existing ones
• Creativity to generate novel ideas for solving clients’ biggest problems
• Aptitude for analytical work, including identifying key issues in complex challenges and extracting insights from large data sets
• Willingness to collaborate fluidly and respectfully with a talented team

Pay

The applicable base salary range for this role is $135,000 to $240,000. Base pay is determined based on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education, as well as any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions are made on a case-by-case basis. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
