About the role
Procter & Gamble’s Research and Development (R&D) organization is the engine behind the company’s innovation and product development. This role sits within the Fragrance & Flavor Discipline and focuses on designing and evaluating irresistibly superior fragrance experiences for P&G’s Beauty Care business.
As an Olfactive Scientist, you will join a dynamic team that blends scientific rigor with creative design to meet consumer needs. Perfume is a key driver of consumer delight and business growth across P&G’s portfolio. The position is highly visible and collaborative, offering the opportunity to lead fragrance projects from concept to market execution.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Beauty R&D teams to identify opportunities for leveraging perfume in brand strategies, integrating fragrance trends, and guiding the design of new perfumes.
- Provide expert fragrance evaluation to guide P&G and external Perfume House perfumers in designing superior perfumes for P&G brands.
- Collaborate with R&D teams to integrate perfumes into product formulations, ensuring irresistibly superior consumer experiences.
- Lead fragrance projects end-to-end, from design to execution, working with category R&D, internal teams, and external perfume resources.
- Design fragrance screening methods and consumer research techniques to enable the creation of delightful perfumes.
- Provide technical support for market execution, including ensuring perfume readiness and collaborating with Product Supply and Manufacturing to meet launch timelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Food Science, or a related field.
- Olfactive training and proven experience in the Flavors & Fragrances industry.
- Ability to travel domestically and potentially internationally.
- Ability to work at least 4 days per week from the Mason, OH office (working hours between 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with flexible start time between 7-9 a.m.).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the Beauty fragrance industry.
- Degree or certification in Olfactory Sciences, Perfumery, or Fragrance Evaluation.
Pay
Starting salary range: $85,000 - $122,200 per year.
