Fragrance Lab Tech

About the role

Zing Recruiting is seeking an experienced Fragrance Lab Technician / Compounder to support a busy fragrance laboratory in New York City, NY. This role works closely with perfumers to compound fragrance formulas, prepare samples, and support client and internal project requests. The position is primarily laboratory-based, with exposure to fragrances and chemicals; requires wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and may involve standing, sitting, bending, and lifting materials weighing 5–10 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Compound fragrance formulas and prepare application samples based on perfumer and client requests.
• Prepare samples for Perfumery, Marketing, Evaluation, Sensory, and other projects.
• Collaborate with perfumers to manage daily priorities and maintain an efficient workflow.
• Ensure raw materials are readily available for compounding activities.
• Prepare samples, reports, and supporting materials to meet project deadlines.
• Assist with application laboratory demonstrations and ancillary product preparation.
• Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks and organized records.
• Manage and maintain raw materials, bases, and perfumer collections.
• Follow laboratory safety procedures and ISO 9001 quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• Previous fragrance compounding experience (required).
• Fragrance industry laboratory experience preferred.
• Relevant college coursework or equivalent work experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a scientific field preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions.
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Pay

$28/hour
