About the role
This position focuses on an Okta Governance project, specifically migrating from the legacy IBM Tivoli ITIM system to Okta Identity Governance (OIG). The project is in progress, having completed phase 3, with many more phases planned. This is a greenfield implementation requiring expertise in Okta and Identity Governance and Administration (IGA).
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including IT operations, security, application development, and business stakeholders.
- Work alongside other IGA professionals to ensure seamless migration and implementation of identity governance processes.
- Migrate IGA processes and applications from IBM Tivoli Identity Management to Okta Identity Governance (OIG).
- Implement and configure OIG features, including Lifecycle Management, Access Certification, Okta Workflows, and various automation tools.
- Design, develop, and maintain identity and access management solutions, ensuring compliance with security best practices and company policies.
- Develop or integrate custom connectors with Okta, including Okta Workflows, Connector, Group, and Rules development.
- Configure Governance module, Group Rule sets, bundles, schema, and MFL workflows.
Requirements
- Minimum 6 years of IT professional experience.
- Minimum 4 years of IT security experience.
- Minimum 5 years of Okta experience, including building custom Okta workflows, custom connector builds, Okta native API integrations, Governance module configuration, Group Rule setup, bundle and schema configuration, and MFL workflow configuration.
- 3+ years of experience with Okta core functionalities, including Lifecycle Management, Access Governance, Workflows, Okta native API integrations, and scripting languages (Python, JavaScript).
- Certified as Okta Certified Administrator (mandatory); Okta Certified Workflows and Okta Certified Developer certifications are nice to have.
- More than 2 years of hands-on experience implementing custom identity solutions with Okta.
- Experience using Okta API Access Management to secure APIs.
- Experience using Okta REST APIs, including passing correct API parameters in requests, assigning/unassigning apps to users using Okta Users and Groups APIs.
- Understanding of Okta API design principles, including pagination and filtering query parameters on attributes.
- Experience using Okta APIs to query logs and events.
- Understanding of Okta-supported OIDC and OAuth flows, and knowledge of when to use them.
- Understanding of how Okta policies and associated rules affect API calls and responses.
- Knowledge of enforcing Okta multifactor authentication for users in client apps.
- Knowledge of interpreting common Okta API error codes.
- Strong understanding of IAM concepts, including user provisioning, authentication protocols (SAML, OAuth), directory services, and security best practices.
- Proficiency in version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines for effective code management and deployment.
- Familiarity with security best practices and secure coding principles.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
