Oiler - Highway Heavy Construction
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform daily fueling, greasing, and lubrication of heavy construction equipment.
- Conduct pre-operation and post-operation inspections on equipment.
- Check and maintain fluid levels including engine oil, hydraulic oil, coolant, transmission fluid, and fuel.
- Inspect equipment for leaks, excessive wear, damage, and potential safety hazards.
- Report mechanical issues and maintenance needs to equipment managers and mechanics.
- Auxiliary field mechanics with repairs and preventative maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate service records and equipment inspection documentation.
- Operate service trucks equipped with fueling, lubrication, and maintenance tools.
- Monitor tire, track, and undercarriage conditions.
- Keep equipment clean and ensure machines are properly parked and secured.
- Maintain inventory of fuel, lubricants, filters, and service supplies.
- Support equipment mobilization and setup as needed.
- Follow all company, OSHA, DOT, and project-specific safety requirements.
- Participate in daily safety meetings and toolbox talks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Experience servicing heavy construction equipment is preferred.
- Knowledge of lubrication systems, fuel systems, hydraulic systems, and preventative maintenance practices is required.
- Ability to identify mechanical problems and communicate them effectively is required.
- A valid driver's license is required; a CDL is preferred.
- Basic computer or mobile device skills for maintenance reporting are preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb, crawl, kneel, bend, and work around heavy equipment.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and travel as project needs require.
Safety Requirements
- Comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
- Wear required PPE at all times.
- Participate in safety training programs.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, accidents, or equipment defects.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Preferred Experience
- 1–3 years of heavy highway or civil construction equipment maintenance experience.
- Experience working with Caterpillar, and Deere, or similar construction equipment.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance scheduling and equipment inspection programs is preferred.
