Oil & Gas Title Attorney

About the role

Our client is a highly respected midsize law firm with offices across Texas and Colorado, providing services ranging from real estate and labor & employment to energy & natural resources. They are seeking an experienced Oil & Gas Title Attorney to join their dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of title opinion experience and be licensed in TX. Levels considered include Associate, Senior Attorney, and Shareholder.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough title examinations for oil and gas properties, including analysis of deeds, leases, probate documents, and other relevant documents.
• Prepare title opinions and curative documents based on findings from title examinations.
• Perform due diligence for acquisitions and divestitures, reviewing purchase and sale agreements, joint operating agreements, and other transaction documents.
• Provide legal advice and counsel to clients on oil and gas title issues, including leasehold and royalty interests, pooling and unitization, and title defects.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in Texas.
• 3+ years of oil & gas title opinion experience.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex legal documents.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of successful outcomes.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Compensation

Salary: $150,000 – $200,000 per year

Bonuses and other incentive compensation are offered.
