About the role
We represent clients throughout Texas in various practice areas. This position offers a low billable hour requirement, a lucrative bonus structure, and a defined path to shareholder status.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough title examinations and prepare title opinions for oil and gas transactions.
- Provide legal advice regarding land ownership, leasehold interests, and title issues.
- Review and negotiate oil and gas leases, rights of way, and other agreements.
- Collaborate with landmen, geologists, and other professionals in the oil and gas industry.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings, if necessary.
- Stay updated with changes in laws and regulations affecting the oil and gas industry.
- Manage relationships with external counsel, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Assist in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice law in the state of Texas.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Oil & Gas Title Attorney.
- Proficient in title examination within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong understanding of oil and gas law, including leases, contracts, property rights, and environmental regulations.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient in using legal research tools and software.
- High ethical standards and professional integrity.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
