Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support to clients in the Oil & Gas sector, specifically in the areas of mineral rights, due diligence, and division orders.
- Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of Oil & Gas contracts and agreements.
- Conduct thorough due diligence in relation to Oil & Gas transactions, including title examination, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies.
- Advise clients on matters relating to mineral rights, including leasing, acquisitions, and divestitures.
- Manage and resolve complex legal issues arising from division orders, including interpreting contractual terms, resolving ownership disputes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and litigation related to Oil & Gas matters.
- Stay abreast of legislative and regulatory changes affecting the Oil & Gas industry, and advise clients accordingly.
- Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement effective legal strategies for clients.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in the state.
- A minimum of 1 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, with a strong focus on mineral rights, due diligence, and division orders.
- Demonstrated experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating Oil & Gas contracts and agreements.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations affecting the Oil & Gas industry.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
