Offshore Welder

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication on structural steel, piping, handrails, brackets, sea chests, foundations, and miscellaneous components on the drillship.
• Conduct repairs and modifications in compliance with class, flag, and company standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and welding symbols to ensure precise execution.
• Utilize SMAW, FCAW, and GTAW welding processes on carbon steel and stainless materials, including out-of-position welds.
• Carry out fit-up, tacking, grinding, and surface preparation for welding tasks.
• Assist with general rig maintenance, including structural inspections, thickness measurements, and housekeeping.
• Work safely in confined spaces, at heights, and over the side, adhering to all safety protocols and PPE requirements.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, mechanics, and engineers regarding job scope, progress, and issues.
