About the Role

We seek dynamic scholars and educators to join our Electrical and Computer Engineering department in one of the following focus areas:

Digital Systems

• Design, verification, and implementation of digital hardware and embedded systems
• Computer architecture, VLSI, FPGA-based systems, and hardware security
• Integration of digital systems with emerging technologies such as AI/ML accelerators and IoT

Robotics & AI

• Robotics, autonomous systems, and human-robot interaction
• Machine learning, computer vision, and AI-driven decision-making
• Applications in healthcare, sustainability, and smart infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in electrical and computer engineering
• Develop a vibrant, externally funded research program
• Mentor students and contribute to departmental and university service
• Advance Santa Clara University’s mission of engineering with a human-centered, ethical focus

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field by the start date
• Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and research
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, equitable learning and research environment
