Officer, Safety & Security (Wednesday-Saturday)(8pm-6am)

As an Officer, Safety & Security at Iron Mountain’s Data Centers, you will have daily interactions with all individuals who enter the facility, including customers, employees, visitors, and vendors. You will maintain a professional demeanor and interact courteously and professionally. Training, uniforms, footwear, duty gear, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided.
Iron Mountain’s Data Centers operate a global colocation platform enabling customers to build tailored, sustainable, carrier and cloud-neutral data solutions from single cabinets to wholesale data centers in 19 locations on three continents. Our data centers are powered by 100% renewable energy thanks to carbon credit assistance and low PUE, with Green Power Pass available to all customers.
Responsibilities
- Prevent unauthorized individuals/vehicles from entering the facility/restricted areas by using the latest security technology.
- Monitor safety, security, and fire alarm systems, onsite CCTV, and respond as needed.
- Conduct required visual inspections of key assets and locations within the facility through roving foot and vehicle patrols, both inside and outside the facility, in all weather conditions.
- Appropriately document daily activity and report any significant security and safety incidents.
- Quickly and effectively assess and de-escalate situations that may present a threat to safety or security.
- Electronically provision temporary/permanent access for authorized individuals.
Requirements
- Applicants must meet all requirements, including customer-contracting requirements, which will require U.S. Citizenship.
- Effective communicator—clearly convey messages and requirements to inform customers and share messages between team members.
- Ability to multitask—experience with multiple security and ticket queue systems, as work tasks can change throughout the day.
- Attention to detail—ability to understand and follow documented processes and Iron Mountain’s safety code; the role is very process-driven.
- Technology adept with preferred experience in Access Control systems and ticketing system software.
- Perform basic computer data entry.
