Job Description and Duties

Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented in response to the status of the State budget. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit R04, and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by 3 percent and will receive 5 hours PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Either I: One year of experience in California state service performing clerical duties at a level of responsibility equivalent to that of an Office Assistant, Range B.
    • Or II: Experience: Two years of experience in typing and clerical work.

[Academic education above the twelfth grade may be substituted for one year of the required general experience on the basis of either (a) one year of general education being equivalent to three months of experience; or (b) one year of education of a business or commercial nature being equivalent to six months of experience. Students who are enrolled in the last semester or its equivalent of course work, which upon completion will fulfill these requirements, will be admitted to the examination, but they must submit evidence of completion before they can be considered for appointment.

To obtain list eligibility for the OFFICE TECHNICIAN (TYPING) before applying for the position, you must first take and pass the OFFICE TECHNICIAN (TYPING) examination.

The Position(s) is eligible for hybrid telework, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy and will be required to report to the office as needed/required.

The successful candidate must reside in California upon the start of a telework arrangement, pursuant to Government Code sections 14200-14203.
