Office Specialist II Vital Records Administration
About The Role
Join the Utah Department of Health & Human Services as an Office Specialist II of the Vital Records Administration. You will work with a dynamic group of like-minded professionals in a fast paced comfortable setting. This role goes beyond basic clerical tasks like filing and answering phones. It requires high-level administrative skills and significant attention to detail regarding policy and procedure. The position involves issuing and amending vital records, which requires advanced office skills and the ability to utilize complex systems. The successful candidate must be able to gather and apply pertinent rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to individual customer interactions effectively. This is an in office, 8-5, M-F position.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing basic accounting functions such as receiving and recording cash payments, basic bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable.
- Writing or drafting correspondence, reports, documents and/or other written materials.
- Typing and preparing reports or other written materials from source documents, transcription, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
- Customer service experience.
- Experience using computers and office equipment.
- Basic monetary/payment transaction experience.
- An ability to source information and apply it to similar situations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Spanish/English bilingual skills.
- More than 2 years' experience with customer service.
- Research/policy driven decision making skills.

Pay & Schedule
Full-time position. Salary: $18.00 per hour. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. In-office / on-site location: 288 North 1460 West, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84116.
