About the role
The Office Principal will lead the Fort Mill office, manage projects, and foster HDR's presence in the local market.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement office operating plan and budget
- Participate in strategic plan development for department growth
- Serve as a company representative in business and community
- Support personnel within the department to provide high-quality services
- Establish and monitor office procedures and processes
- Work cooperatively with regional and area operations managers
- Own the office planning guide process
- Support hiring, performance evaluations, staff development, training, and recognition
- Maintain key client relationships
- Occasionally serve as Project Principal, Project Manager, or other critical project delivery roles
- Communicate, implement, monitor, and enforce company policies within the department
- Conduct quality assurance activities, risk management reviews, business reviews, and dispute resolutions
Requirements
- Strong understanding of engineering design and construction management
- Technical knowledge in site/civil, transportation, water and natural resources, solid waste, power/energy, and industrial
- Experience in business development, client management, project delivery, staff management, and office management
- Track record in the Fort Mill area
- High business acumen and strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
- Outstanding management and development of diverse teams
- Committed to quality, improvement, and promoting HDR values
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering, or closely related field
- 10+ years of related experience
- Extensive related technical management experience
- Local candidate preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Maintains a professional Engineering or Architecture registration
- Experienced in management and development of diverse teams
- Committed to quality, improvement, and promoting HDR values

Pay
Negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
